We are living in a world that craves for instant gratification.  From instant noodles to liposuction, we want a quick fix to our desires.  One moment to fill our stomach, next moment to reduce it.  Often, we demand God to be an Instant-God too.  “I prayed, You answer!”   “I repented, You forgive!”  “I stopped my wrongdoing, You heal!”

In today’s 1st reading, St Paul reminded us that “If we live by the truth and in love, we shall grow in all ways into Christ, who is the head by whom the whole body is fitted and joined together, every joint adding its own strength, for each separate part to work according to its function.” Eph 4:15-16. (JB)

Time is in God’s hand, and many things in life, like this piece of jigsaw requires time, patience and determination to complete.  But once it is finished, we can see how perfect and beautiful it turns out to be, without any missing link.  As the scripture pointed out : “We become the perfect Man, fully mature with the fullness of Christ himself.” Eph 4:13. (JB)                              By B

  1. Spiritual growth can be so slow and painful, it runs counter to our cultural inclination and preferences. I think that slowness teaches us steadiness and perseverance. Thanks for sharing this.

    1. Thank you too! As Padre Pio once said : ““If we are calm and persevering, we shall find not only ourselves, but our souls, and with that, God Himself.” God bless you and family abundantly.
