PEACE I leave with you; my PEACE I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27 (NIV)
The mangosteen is a unique tropical fruit. During ripening, the rind changes from green to red to dark purple. When the rind softens, we can easily crack it open and pry it apart with our thumbs to reveal the edible white fleshy segments. The number of segments inside corresponds with the number of lobes found at the base of the mangosteen. The flesh, some with seeds, is sweet, slightly sourish and quite juicy.
In the process of opening the outer dark purplish rind, we have to be extra careful that we do not stain our clothes as the stains are permanent.
The whiteness of the flesh is similar to the peace of Christ that can only be found inside each of us, and not in the secular world with its many distractions and temptations that draws us away from God, and stains our souls with sins. By R and B
“The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord turn his face toward you and give you PEACE!” Deut 6:24-26 (NIV)
