FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT – FAITHFULNESS

“Well done, good and FAITHFUL servant! You have been FAITHFUL with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!”  Matt 25:21 (NIV)

Unlike the durian and mangosteen which are seasonal tropical fruits, the popular papaya is available all the year round. They are rather easy to grow and bear fruits 6-10 months later.  We have unexpectedly found little papaya trees sprouting randomly among the grass, even between gaps on the cement floor, from carelessly thrown seeds.  They thrive wherever there is soil, lots of sunlight and water.

This is just like Jesus, our faithful friend, who is always available, all the year round. Sometimes we may be unaware or even forget that He is among us. Then one day, we suddenly realise HE is here, present right beside us, all the while.

This is one of my favourite verses:

God did not call me to be successful; He called me to be faithful.” — Mother Theresa               By R
