Nowadays, many tourists prefer to travel free-and-easy to the other side of the globe instead of relying on a tour package with fixed itinerary. One of the reasons could be that those of us with smart devices can find our way around in a foreign land simply by using maps coupled with the Global Positioning System(GPS). However, it is not always mistake proof. Not so long ago, 3 Japanese tourists in Australia were misguided by their GPS system and drove right into the sea!
Let me hear Your loving kindness in the morning; For I trust in You; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul. Ps 143:8 (NASB)
We often hear that we are only pilgrims on earth, therefore indeed we are only tourists in a foreign land. Heaven is our true home, and we often find ourselves lost in this world. Lost in our desires of the flesh. Lost in our misery of self pity. Lost in our craving for power and fame. We need a spiritual GPS while on this journey on earth and, more importantly, to guide us Home; one that we can rely on, one that never misguides us, one that is more readily available than any smart device. And … Praise be to Jesus, for He has given us the Holy Spirit to be our Guide and Teacher. By B
