Her fingers were hovering over the keyboard, tapping those keys frantically and words appeared on her laptop screen at something like a hundred words per minute. “Which is faster and more precise?” I asked, “putting ideas across through typing or through spoken words?” “Typing, of course!” She replied.
I think she is right. Most of us speak with many words that are unessential. Moreover, our sentences tend to be poorly formed with grammatical errors or wrong word choices. When we type or write, we make an effort to filter those words to make more sense out of what we think.
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
And do not return there without watering the earth
And making it bear and sprout,
And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
So will MY WORD be which goes forth from My mouth;
It will not return to Me empty,
Without accomplishing what I desire,
And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11 (NIV)
Lord, may our hearts always be opened to Your Word and be led to the Truth. Amen. By B
