Waiting…waiting…for the Lord

“Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us.

This is the LORD for whom we have waited;
Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.”  Isaiah 25:8-9   (NASB)

Busy with chores, family and my mum, i had almost forgotten that we were late in preparing our house for Christmas. It took two vivid dreams from the Lord to probe me into action.

In the first dream, He brought along a Christmas tree to tell me that we were still not ready to welcome Him into our Home even when He wanted to visit us. Three days later, ben and i went to the nursery to buy a very mini ‘Christmas tree’ and 2 poinsettias, and set up our altar with the Christmas crib and other decorations. The first thing my mum noticed when she came over was not the ‘tree’ nor the crib but the pot of poinsettia we gave her, because it is red, and she loves anything bright and red.

Then three days ago, i had another strange dream implying i was late, that my mind was cluttered with other concerns and distractions, and that my heart was still not ready to receive Him.

We are always guilty of believing that time is in our hands and that there’s always a tomorrow, so we are always waiting…

we wait to say sorry;

we wait to forgive;

we wait to say I love you;

we wait to give up our addictions;

we wait to give up our sins;

we wait until we are old before we think about our eternity – hopefully.

Again, i am waiting and waiting for the Lord. Christmas is just next week. Is my heart truly and sincerely ready to receive Him?       By R
