Do not forget your forget me nots. I spent this last week or so painting one of the most tedious and time-consuming paintings i’ve ever done. Patience and perseverance is what the Lord has taught me, every tiny forget-me-not is a reminder to me to Forget Him Not.
In February this year, just after the sudden onslaught of my vision problems and a prompting from the Lord, i had painted a small and simple piece of forget-me-not. In my heart, however, i had wished that i could paint a much better piece dedicated to Him. Nothing but the best for my Lord. I knew it wouldn’t be easy so i waited and waited until i felt His prompting and finally found the courage to attempt it.
In order not to aggravate my eyesight, i took my time and did it in many sittings – to draft and mask, to paint layer after layer of leaves…
and to paint tiny petal after petal…
Instead of worrying about whether i can still paint if my eyesight should worsen, i pray that i will continue to paint while i still can, with His blessings.
I find comfort in this verse:
“Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?” Luke 12:25-26 (NIV)
So, here’s a bouquet for You, my sweet Lord! By Renee
