On Sunday, I read about how Naaman was finally persuaded to immerse in the Jordan river and emerged with his skin completely healed. It was such an amazing skincare procedure that many of us can only dream of today. This supernatural phenomenon came about without him doing anything great or difficult, just as the servant had told him. It did not happen according to Naaman’s expectation of Elisha waving his hand over the leprosy spots. The miracle found its way through Naaman’s obedience. 2 Kings 5
If God’s miracles are guided by our whims and fancy, we will certainly find them hard to believe even if they occur. He just wants us to listen and obey, for obedience is to sacrifice our pride. And just when we are about to give up trying, perhaps the miracle is waiting to happen on our seventh try.
Dear Lord Jesus, open my ears to listen, strengthen my will to follow, and increase my patience to wait upon your blessings. Amen. By Ben
