I like nature, especially flowers, birds and scenery (although sadly that’s rare where we live). And i also like water…any kind of water, be it a little stream, the vast sea or the thunderous waterfall. There’s something inherently refreshing, life-giving, and even inspiring about water.
Sometimes, i have a problem painting when everything is green and ever-green. Then i am forced to look beyond the green and see the different variation of plants that God has created. Evergreen is good too, for it means unchanging constancy… like God’s love.
To stay evergreen, the plants have to keep close to their source of life – water.
To gain everlasting life, i need to stay close to God – now, more than ever.
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.” Psalm 1:1-3 (NIV)
